Logistics and Warehouse Manager

Welders Supplies Limited is hiring a leader with strong decision-making skills to join its team as Logistics and Warehouse Manager.

The successful candidate for this position will ensure on-time delivery of products, productivity, quality and inventory accuracy, and supervise staff to ensure job tasks are followed and completed in accordance with the company’s safety, policy and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains accurate compliance records, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and National Safety Code (NSC) documentation and standards and other programs as required.
• Leads creating of process that establishes and optimizes logistics flow (goods incoming and outbound), overall distribution cost and effectiveness of workflow to maximize value creation.
• Accountable for operating, maintaining and improving internal cylinder and hard goods delivery fleet.
• Articulates and energizes customers, partners, suppliers and employees around the company’s vision, products and services.
• Creates an environment that encourages staff collaboration and teamwork, enhances revenues, optimizes costs and improves overall efficiency and retention.
• Directs, coordinates, assigns and trains drivers and warehouse staff.
• Ensures warehouse staff members conduct and complete regular inventory reconciliations and collaborate effectively with product group ensuring accuracy in inventory management.
• Assists staff in identifying and recommending optimal transportation routing and delivery frequency.
• Develops process that monitors and/or controls products and materials in transit.
• Maintains metrics, reports, documentation, training and safety records.
• Analyzes department statistics and implements improvements.
• Develops risk management programs to ensure outbound product supply flow interruption is mitigated.
• Resolves transportation, logistics, and customer issues.
• Creates policies and procedures for logistics and delivery activities.
• Collaborates with other departments to integrate logistics and warehouse activities with business systems such as customer sales, order management and accounting.
• Negotiates and manages contracts with third-party logistic partners to ensure products are shipped on time and in a safe, secure and cost effective manner.
• Creates reports and tracks: on-time delivery to customers, customer deliveries are completed and accurate, logistic costs, warehouse cost and efficiency, and inventory accuracy and related programs.

Qualifications:

• Over three years’ experience as a logistics or warehouse manager
• Experience analyzing, implementing and monitoring technological change targeted at efficiency or productivity gains within a distribution fleet.
• P.Log (Professional Logistician) Certification is an asset.
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Valid Driver’s License with a proven safe driving record
• Accuracy with good attention to detail
• Approachable and customer focused
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Good motivator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to plan, organize, delegate, develop and lead employees as a team
